Caring for Your Lavender: A Season of Hope and Growth

Caring for your lavender and pruning away unhealthy relationships…

Spring planting is filled with hope and excitement. As your lavender takes root, proper care ensures a thriving plant. Water sparingly once established, as lavender thrives in dry conditions. Harvesting depends on your intended use—culinary lavender is best picked just as buds begin to open, while crafting lavender can be harvested when flowers have more blooms.

Pruning is also key: Lavandula angustifolia can be pruned back by at least one-third, while Lavandula x intermedia should only be lightly trimmed to maintain its shape.

Just as we prepare plants for future growth, we should also tend to our own well-being, making space for rest and renewal in our busy lives. Pruning away unhealthy relationships will give you the energy you need to build stronger, healthier relationships with people who care about you.
